Plane Diverted to Remote Runway at SAIA

A Boeing 737 Jet, forced to make an emergency landing at the San Antonio International Airport has been given the all-clear, and removed from the runway.
News 4 WOAI has learned a fight attendant was concerned after a passenger spent an extreme amount of time in the plane's restroom. After the passenger exited the restroom, the fight attendant noticed the ceiling tiles were displaced. The flight attendant notified authorities and the plane was diverted to a far north corner of the airport. Two teams of bomb-sniffing dogs were brought to search the plane. Airport spokesman David Hebert says both K9 units showed interest in the plane. Passengers, and all luggage, aboard the mid-sized Boeing jet, were removed from the plane. All passengers, but for one man, were free to go. Federal authorities held the man they believed tampered with the restroom, back for questioning.
Less than three hours after diverting the plane, and numerous searches, airport officials gave the all clear.
"We can tell you that there was no device found, says Hebert. It doesn't appear to be any danger at this point." Although the situation is over, and the plane has been turned back over to Delta, News 4 WOAI has learned the one passenger is still being questioned. Officials have yet to release his name, but do say he is not from San Antonio.
Another "dry run"??
Beginning to think we are getting a lot of dry runs! One more reason to have grounded myself and driving wherever I need to go.
Thanks for the story from my home town.
If this guy was trying "something", then they need to go over that 727 thoroughly. Even if there is no device, they can glean what the guy may have been trying to do from the WC. The guy may have been trying to disable the smoke detectors in the WC.
After all, President Tom in Iran is on message with the DNC talking points.
Great. My son and I are flying to San Antonio tomorrow.
Either that or a serious case of constipation!
Same here!

"Another "dry run"??"
Possible.
Was the passenger in question a...you know what?
Absolutely not! They want the attack to take place BEFORE the elections so they can condemn President Bush and every Republican for not "keeping us safe" and say THEY would do a better job of protecting us.
Listen to the crap they have been spewing since the disruption of the London plot. "The President has not kept us safe" "We are not safer than we were before 9-11" blah blah blah All they need is one good hit before November 7th and they think they will be home free.
That would be my guess. He probably was going to try and smoke a cigarette.
Another "dry run" PING?!
I just moved and I'm cleaning up my 'ping list'. Sorry for any double pings.
Yes, it sounds suspicious. Too many people working for the airports who might put things onboard for the supposed terrorists.
I recall reading about how many undocumented workers there were working around those planes, bet there still are.
It could also be that he was trying to disconnect the smoke alarm so he could smoke a ciggie.
I'm trying to find out "this person's" name right now.
I'll update everybody when I get it.
"That would be my guess. He probably was going to try and smoke a cigarette."
That is my guess based on that being fairly common (smokers trying to disable the smoke detectors so as to sneak a puff). I am not very familiar with the deadspaces in a 727, but I can contemplate that he MAY have been trying to fiddle with something other than the smoke detector.
Well, if it is something like Bubba, he was probably smokin:')
Cripes.
I don't want to post my thoughts --- I'll send you a FR mail.
He shouldn't have ordered the chili.
