If any Israeli city is hit, it will be Tel Aviv.

Too much muzzie history (contrived or not) is in Jerusalem to garner support from the other muzzie populations.

And, there will always be the folks who think Israel nuked itself to start World War IV.

The same ones who think 9-11 was an inside job.

IIRC, there were reports of NORAD being on a heightened state of alert before the NK 4th of July missile show.

Wonder if there are any signs of hieghtened readinies amongst the worlds serious military powers?

I predict nothing will happen, except the usual high tension and maybe some shots fired between hezbollah and Israel.

Exactly.

According to the above, it's more like 5-10 hours away.

I better hurry up and get my shower in

Newbie makes unsourced predictions.

Exactly. My thoughts is that this is actually a longtime Freeper using a new handle just for this thread. If something happens, he'll proudly identify himself and take full credit. If nothing happens, the Freeper will be able to save face and continue to use his original handle as always. Like you said, no reputation at risk and nothing to lose by putting up this thread.

That's was my thinking too until I took a second glance. Markets look a little uneasy tonight and Asia, especially Hong Kong were weaker today. Maybe because China increased interest rates again? Gold is also smartly higher $625.90 cash on Kitco which is a heap better than the around $613.00 close last Friday.

I fear this could be another Y2K. Seriously, Israel has had nukes since the '70s, with real delivery systems. No real country (eg, Iran) is going to launch a nuke at them.

The florid American master of horror fiction, H. P. Lovecraft, warned his characters, "Do not raise up what ye cannot put down." Islamist terrorists are reviving the West's thirst for blood. And this time it won't be slaked in Flanders.

Which is a good point. But, after two world wars and the cultural suicide that followed, we don't have the demographics in the West for a long fight. In the, we are looking more like Old Rome than the New Rome.

There's going to be some selling today just because 8/22 is in the news, but unless it's a BIG selloff of over 150 points on the Dow Jones Industrials then it doesn't mean much. If we get a big 200 point drop in the DJIA then that could mean something serious will happen.

I did notice that one or two days after Ahmadinejad wrote his letter to Bush, the stock market started falling rapidly back in May. I think that may have been some Arab money moving out of the market, leading to a quick, hard selloff in May. But then the market stabilized well in June/July, so I don't expect anything serious to happen any time soon.

The hotel heiress and star of the reality show "The Simple Life" releases her debut album, "Paris," on Aug. 22.

This alone suffices as a disaster of Biblical proportions.

I don't know. Maybe he wants to dismiss rumors of the imminent end of the world.

2. If he's wrong, he will be quickly forgotten.

If he's wrong, he'll go back to using his regular Freepername ... and will pile on this new guy, along with the rest of us.

I ain't buying it either.

I got the 2006 fatwa, with air conditioning, XM radio, and cruise control.

Hard top, or convertible?

Fatwas are always convertible, didn't you know?
