Social issues are irrelevant if we are in mortal danger.
Yeah, sure. We have killed something like 40-45 million Americans in abortion clinics all over this country in the last 35 years. What kind of "mortal danger" could we possibly face from al-Qaeda that comes close to this? They'd have to kill off every resident of our 20 largest cities to come even close to this.
Just to the social conservatives understand where I'm coming from, I am a church-going woman who votes for Conservative and Right to Life candidates whenever possible.
But Giuliani was special. We were told for 20 years that New York is ungovernable, but he managed to govern it. He cleaned up the streets and brought tourism and business back to the city. He doesn't take crap from anyone, Republican or Democrat. I admire him greatly.
He is, in fact, so liberal that Democrats called him a fascist.
Have you seen the most recent issue of "The American Spectator?" Deroy Murdock has a fabulous piece about Giuliani. It's really worth reading. If one has an open mind, that is (as I gather you do).
