And here you are, on this thread, arguing in favor of the idea allowing illegals to stay, in order to avoid a higher cost for the consumer.
Presumably, that consumer would be a member of your envisioned elite.
A hypereducated elite class of mandarins that doesn't even reproduce itself at the replacement rate presiding over a teeming mass of peasants sounds like something that has been tried before.
