I just read up on this one I think.
But the data on young Americans tell a different story. Simply put, liberals have a big baby problem: They're not having enough of them, they haven't for a long time, and their pool of potential new voters is suffering as a result.
According to the 2004 General Social Survey, if you picked 100 unrelated politically liberal adults at random, you would find that they had, between them, 147 children. If you picked 100 conservatives, you would find 208 kids. That's a "fertility gap" of 41%. Given that about 80% of people with an identifiable party preference grow up to vote the same way as their parents, this gap translates into lots more little Republicans than little Democrats to vote in future elections. Over the past 30 years this gap has not been below 20%--explaining, to a large extent, the current ineffectiveness of liberal youth voter campaigns today.
LOL, my parents did their part. I am one of 7 kids, all Republicans.
Well now, this is some GOOD news:)
I'm here! McCain rears his ugly head today.
Oh God! There he goes again with the 1966 analogy! I've about had enough of this and am ready to switch off JB!
Two potential positive republican issues are immigration enforcement and domestic terrorism. The Rs have to figure out how to connect on these issues with voters.
He does make it hard to listen to him when he goes there!
Round 2 may start with the Hezbos before the round 1 inquiry is done.
Blech!
Larry ought to stick to economics and leave the war and democrat candidates to others.
Something in the water at MSNBC.
Kudlow was very very complimentary of the President's sponsorship and support of the tax cuts and the positive effect they've had on the economy. Why anyone wants Rumsfeld to resign is beyond me.....
I think so many fear the future and feel if the Terrorist will go away if we go away!
It seems they have an Ostrich nature!
You should have heard JB last night...
SHEESH...he was saying that Bush would be a HERO if he would just pull all of the troops from Iraq home right now.
PLUS, he said that the partisanship in Washington right now is worse than it has ever been...and that in "these times" America can't afford that...BUT, it is BUSH that has to move to make things right with the dems...and by bringing home the troops...that would be just ONE step in making that happen.
CLICK...I turned him off..and will NOT turn him on again.
I am tuned in(as per usual)to that 50,000 Watt Blowtorch of Truth and Freedom,WABC/770!!!!!!!!!!
Of course there are lots of caveats needed, in both Taranto's and Brooks' theses - for one, they both rely on past behavioral trends where the political orientation of the parents is highly correlated with that of their offspring (or vice versa) - and it is far from certain that that pattern still holds in the Internet era...
I found Brooks' article to be lacking - he is clearly a leftist, so no surprise there...

Yes...he was yelling into the radio last night..saying something about how if Johnson had pulled the troops from Vietnam...HE would have a GREAT legacy now.
AND that Bush needs to heed that lesson...and pull the Iraq troops now...if he expects a GREAT legacy in 30 years.
It was disgusting.
Re: Rummy...the first person I can remember calling for Rummy's resignation was Bill O'Reilly...and that was a LONG time ago...and then, little by little, the TV armchair generals started "questioning" Rummy.
NOw..as far as Col. Hunt is concerned...he concerns me...because he has changed a bit since the start of the war...and there has been strong rumors that he is working as a military advisor for Hillary.
No one has been able to verify it for sure...but that was posted here on FR several months ago...and it would explain his calling for Rummy's head...as well as some other remarks negative towards Bush.
The only thing he is good on is the Middle East I don't think I will post him uneless Isreal is having trouble!
I also turn him off I get an upset stomach when he talks disimformation about Bush!
The world is too fragile to listen to those who want to play games and enable the enemy with their loose lips!
