The deal is that he plays the same character in nearly every movie -- he's the handsome but flawed guy who becomes a "good guy" through the love of a good woman.

Chicks love that stuff. It's a "hey, looky what I made!" kinda thing.

Then combine that with topics guys like, i.e. NASCAR, jet planes, sports, etc. etc. and you've covered your bases.

MI3 isn't nearly as bad when you consider there's another Cruise turd of a movie titled Days Of Thunder. I wasted $5.00 going to the drive-in to watch that boring film.

You hit the nail on the head. I've been saying for years that his movies all had the same script, just a matter of changing career positions. He's a pilot in one, racecar driver in another, bartender here, lawyer there. I'm surprised they even bother to change the name of his character from one movie to the next.
