Sorry, I thought Eyes Wide Shut was masterfully done. I was impressed with the way mood and plot advanced symbolism and self-awareness. To each his own, I guess.

I'd even go so far as to call the movie moralizing, at least on a thematic level.

Nope, haven't seen it. Heard that one was a real stinker. But Donald Rumsfeld Fan posted some pics of Nicole Kidman from that movie on another thread a couple of days ago. Stinker movie or not, those scenes of Nicole Kidman would have been worth the price of admission.
