The betting at TradeSports.com is on McCain to be the GOP candidate. Most recent prices:

McCain = 38.8
Rice = 5.4

>>>Condi trumps all three of the Democrat's jokers: race, gender and orientation

What do you mean by orientation?

My guess is political orientation.

I love to imagine a Condi vs. Hillary race . . .

That makes two at least, you and the toe sucker.

Cinch those blinders on a little tighter there, maybe you won't notice that the words gender and orientation appear in the sentence connected by the conjunction and?

Could it be because in the polls she always ranks in the top three of GOP candidates people prefer; along with McCain and Giuliani? I tell you this; between those three, it's Condi, hands down, for me.

Condi, we hardly know you. She has never held elective office, demonstrated extraordinary leadership ability, or undergone the scrutiny of the MSM. We have indications that she is pro-choice and for affirmative action. We have no idea what her positions are on taxes, social security reform, gun control, judicial nominations, immigration, etc. Her resume leaves a lot to be desired.

In the 20th century, Hoover and Eisenhower were the two successful candidates who never held elective office before running for the Presidency. However, both had impressive executive credentials running major organizations. The idea that Condi Rice can be considered as a legitimate candidate to run for President as the nominee of one of the two major parties seems incredulous to me. It doesn't speak well of our political system.

I don't even know anything about her that would particularly qualify her compared to the rest of the field.

She understands Communism.

She understands the purpose of the second amendment.

That is better than 90% of Republicans.

So while you're making a smart ass retort to a reply that was not to you, what is your point?

The original post said, race, gender and orientation. The reply to that post said, "What do you mean by orientation?" Since the original poster talked about how Condi Rice trumped the three Democrat jokers in those three areas, I guessed that "orientation" meant political orientation...that she's not a Democrat, or a leftist like many of the Democrats.

And additionally, the word "and" in that list meant to me that it wasn't "gender orientation"; it was gender AND orientation, along with race. Dr. Rice is a black female conservative, at least as far as we know, and that is contrary to the model of most blacks that is given by the media.

So why don't you STBHU talking about other people "clinching binders tighter" until you know what you're talking about? Unless you're trolling for a fight...

Who said abortion was the only issue? What I'm saying is that anyone who believes a pro-choice Republican can get into the White House has lost all grip on reality.

So all Republicans are against abortion? No Republican in the last 250 years ever had a family member that ever had an abortion? To most conservative Republicans I know, they never broach the topic. They seem feel it is a personal family matter. Sort of like religion, I guess.

We have two children, we would never abort a child, but by the same token, we are not God either.

Because that would discriminate against frumpy, big-thighed, hairy-armpit feminists.

I don't think Helen Thomas is running...oh, THAT feminist!

Gee buck61, you sure have given Condi a tuff threshold to cross, especially being that no one else has managed to resolve this conflict in the past couple of millenniums.

I think Condi's theology is sound GOP but if she does want to make a run, she will need to get married as her being single is bothersome to some on the religious right.

Concerning Powell for president; personally, I think he is at best a Rockafeller Republican and at worst maybe a closet RINO. It's been my guess that the reason he never chose to run on either a VP or Presidential ticket is because there may be, and I only say may be, some problems from his day with the Americal Division and the Mei Lie Incident. Anyway, my two bits, have a great day.

"the clinton co presidency"

should be written:

"the clinton codepresidency"

There. Much more accurate in so many ways.

IMHO Abortion is not the most important issue except for a small percentage on the extremes. I bet either party would be flexible if the alternative was losing. I'd rather have a POTUS who was 'pro choice' who appointed strict constructionist judges to the SCOTUS than vice versa. There are people to whom it is the most important, or even the only issue, but there are as many or more who have other issues that are more important. I, too, am a single issue voter; for me it's the second amendment that trumps everything. For others it's the war on Islamofacism.
My money is that she would be somewhat less pro life than GWB and aim towards the center where most people are (1st trimester OK, 2nd only if life of mother is in danger, 3rd no way).
