You know, it's amazing. Condi keeps saying she is not interested but she is still being mentioned as the possible GOP nominee in '08 by many political pundits. Could it be because in the polls she always ranks in the top three of GOP candidates people prefer; along with McCain and Giuliani?
I tell you this; between those three, it's Condi, hands down, for me.

I agree. Let Lynne and Laura get together and convince Condi. Let Colin Powell run for VP.

Yep. I'd like it to be either Condi or Newt.

Condi trumps all three of the Democrat's jokers: race, gender and orientation.
She's their worst nightmare.
That doesn't make her the best candidate, but it's better than nothing.

Why is that? I don't even know anything about her that would particularly qualify her compared to the rest of the field.

How come the Party of Tolerance, the Party of Acceptance, the Party of Inclusion, never appointed a woman (and a gorgeous one at that) to be Secretary of State?

Condi allowed herself to be snookered by the French over the M.E. cease-fire. She's no Maggie Thatcher, unfortunately.

The Lemon Pipers - RICE IS NICE (1968) I wanna find somebody to care,
I wanna catch some rice in my hair.
I need love and I want you, I do,
I wanna spen my life loving you.
Refrain:
Rice Is Nice, that's what they say,
Rice Is Nice, throw some my way,
Rice Is Nice on any day,
Twice as nice when violins play.
If I decide to walk beside you,
Can I depend on your love being true?
And when I get older and wrinkles appear,
Will I still find some rice in my hair......

You mean Condi would run as a Democrat? She's pro-choice, IIRC. Otherwise, it's impossible for her to win, IMO. No way will the first female President be pro-choice. So that leaves out both Hillary and Condi.

One wonders how many times Ms. Rice must say she's not running for some people to get it through their thick skulls.

Yeah, why would we want an articulate, EXTREMELY well educated individual (to the point of almost being a child prodigy) with experience in multiple Presidential administrations and several years under her belt as Secretary of State for President. Did we mention this is an individual who basically pulled themselves up by the bootsraps when they had everything in the world going against them and yet this person is basically good natured and not bitter at all despite previous hardships?
Why would we want someone like that in leadership?

Neither was Bill Clinton (the last time he was elected Governor of Arkansas). Wouldn't dream of it.

A lot. That would make Hillary Clinton a liar if she runs. But Hillary Clinton hasn't announced she is running for president, has she? I know it seems impossible for some here to imagine, but there is a chance she still might not even run for president in 2008.
