The real dialogue by the Muslims of Katami's ilk, IMHO, started in the 70's and continued through 911 with them doing most of the talking. Hijackings, suicide bombings, blowing up buildings, and then running civilian airliners into buildings. Since then, we have talked back to them rather directly in Afghanistan and Iraq...but not strongly enough IMHO.

If Katami and his ilk (the organizations, towns, cities, nations that support and abet them) are not careful, and if they keep stoking the fire and "speaking" to us in the manner that they have...they had best watch out. Sooner or later they are going to "say" something that really upsets us and then we will talk to them more directly...ala the way we did to the Nazis and Imperialist Japanese at the end of World War II.

I just fear what it will take to lift the dialog to that level for us. Probably 100,000+ dead Americans, and these people are more than capable of that and more if they get the chance. In truth, and IMHO, we should have already started that more direct dialog with them...and encouraged our allies to do the same.
