Did that article have the leader saying "even if we wipe out half of our own country we are going to do it"?

They spend half the day saying death to Israel and America, but did their leader in charge or Ayatollahs say they would allow half of Iran to be destroyed in the process? That is the big question, because that statement would IMO get them assassinated from within the country. So, we should spread that rumor around IMO. :-)

The answer, if you believe in logic, must be yes, since Rafsanjani stated the Israeli response to a nuclear attack will cost them "damages only."

If "damages only" was referred to as getting "half the country blown up or radiated" I think there would be quite the internal revolt in Iran.

I don't think so. Thanks to Jimmah Carter, the Ayatollahs have been teaching an ideology of death and maryrdom for almost three decades.

During the Iraq-Iran war, for instance, they got through Saddam's minefields by roping their children in groups of 20 for martyrdom operations. We ended up supporting Hussein because Iran's insane, suicidal human wave attacks led by clerics with no military training almost won the war for Iran.

Iran also has public stonings (you can watch on YouTube), hangs people from cranes for sodomy (these images are also readily available) -- we're dealing with a truly Dark Age society with a Dark Age mindset.

These guys are true believers, and Ahmadinejad means everything he says about halos, the Mahdi, the Apocalypse, wiping out the Jews and so forth.

Sadly a very "rational" statement from an adherent to a religion of death! After all, those who are sacrificed will be welcomed by allah as "martyrs"!!!!!!
