Pure Paranoids such as Ahmadi are often well organized, have no signs of psychosis such as hallucinations, ambivalence, flatness of affect, etc. They can in fact appear quite "impressive" to naive observers, for this reason. Plus, they do not necessarily display the paperback "someone's after me" symptoms often associated with paranoia.
