Makes Mary Landrieu look downright skinny.

Mary needs to take a look around and see what a future in the Democrat party looks like... it's not pretty!

According to the latest polls, only about 25 percent of Likely voters mention Iraq as the most important issue. Only 4 percent mention the price of gasoline as the most important issue. Only 13 percent mention immigration as the most important issue facing voters.

People are interested in the things that effect their personal lives. Iraq and immigration do not effect many lives. The public understands that the price of oil is not the president or the Republican's fault.

Polls do not bear out what you assume from reading the media and reading the posts on FR.

The living ones aren't.

Unfortunately there are more than enough "stupid" dead voters in Detoliet to produce whatever number of votes the commieRATs need to win.

I heard they purged 60,000 names from the voter registry in Detroit this year. The breathing impaired vote might not be as large.

Yes, some tend to walk around with blue halos around their heads carrying welfare money to buy drugs, or they are a member of the MEA or a close affiliate.

They are not entrepreneurs getting raped by state and local tax policies and actually driving the economy and are not planning to leave the state like the real ones are doing.

On the other hand, this state is rather pro-business once you subtract the union cancer.  It's a matter of turnout at the polls.  There is no state more divided.

With all the bad comments I've heard about Stabenow, I'm still trying to figure out how Spence Abraham could have lost to her back in '00.

He must have run one hell of a bad campaign.

"That's ridiculous."

I also have a pic of her standing next to me, giving me a hug. Does that mean she hangs out at FreeRepublic.com?

McCain has pics of him with Ronald Reagan... does that make him a conservative?

If you look at her policies, when she's not throwing red meat at the nut fringe from Ann Arbor / Detroit, she's definitely moderate, in the same vein as McCain and the soon-departed Joe Schwarz.

"I would bet against DeVos, too."

I'm betting the Dems will hang every sin of Amway around his neck in the coming weeks. They will associate DeVos with every Amway presentation that anyone got suckered into attending.

Sabenow does great consitutent services (that was the downfall of Spence Abraham).

However, she obviously looks awful in person and on camera.

In addition, on the floor of the Senate she's just another vote, not at all a leader. The entire state knows that Stabenow is just another vote, going lock-step with the talking points, talking points that she has trouble articulating (as the speech w/ the sign points out).

By contrast Carl Levin knows how to fight for Michigan causes, starting with the automobile companies. If you want to see a liberal Dem throw environmentalists under the bus, just mention CAFE standards to Levin. That's what keeps him elected, even though his office never returns phone calls.

He angered some people over immigration...can't remember what he did, though. Plus Gore was taking the state by four points, so that didn't help.

Good points, with one possible exception. I suspect that senators who are known to be stupid hacks get re-elected all the time. Actually, it's what a lot of people want, whatever they might tell pollsters.

Kinda like people said they wanted low-pressure auto salesmen, with no-haggle prices... but bought their cars from Fast Eddie's Buy Here - Pay Here lot while the Saturn dealers sucked wind?

Could you have at least cut Mikulski out of the picture before posting it? I am leading a personal crusade to have all pics of Mikulski banned from FR for all eternity. Thanks.

Granholm is not a moderate. Her asinine "cool cities" program and her proposed state-wide land use proposal places her firmly in the soviet socialist camp.

Granholm couldn't run a kiddie lemonade stand, much less a state.

Michigan is a purple state. The Senate and Governorships will not be worth winning. The next Governor and Senator will be asking a bailout for GM to the tune of billions-it's better to say no to their Dems.

Michigan Republicans .......focus like a laser on dumping Granholm

Oh we are

There are too many unionized dopes in this state who following the union line.

The Union has lost a lot of clout with its membership and power
I don't believe it can deliver like it has in the past.
Even the media as there has even been a recent rash of articles on the Union lately
Exposing things like the Union partying in Vegas at their last convention while its membership is laid off and worrying about having a pension.

And the Union has not reduced dues either although the membership looses benefits

The membership is not happy
