Saturday Shows for 8/26/06

Below are the topics and guests announced for these programs, along with my take on the "memes" that the shows are trying to push.  With each guest's name are a series of links that I found in a web search that helped me get a handle on who they are and what their likely positions will be when they are interviewed.

The Beltway Boys (Mort Kondrake, Fred Barnes)

CNBC's Tim Russert Show (Tim Russert)

Fox News Watch (Eric Burns)

Journal Editorial Report (Paul Gigot) - FNC show page

The Sunday Morning Talk Shows - Lineup

By Mark Kilmer

For Sunday, August 27, 2006

Meet the Press (NBC): Host Tim Russert is doing disasters this week. First, he revisits Katrina with New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin then he talks to FEMA director David Paulison.

FOX News Sunday (FNS): Host Chris Wallace looks at "lessons from Katrina" with Office of Gulf Coast Rebuilding coordinator Don Powell and New Orleans City Council President Oliver Thomas (D). Next, as logic dictates, he talks to Joe Biden. (Does Biden want to partition New Orleans?)

Face the Nation (CBS): Host Bob Schieffer talks Katrina with Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour (RNC) and Paulison.

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos talks to Paulison's predecessor, Brownie; Mary "Oh the Humanity!" Landrieu; and Powell.

Late Edition (CNN): Host Wolf Blitzer chats Kartrina with Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco; Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki; Dick Lugar and Carl Levin; and Powell.

Read his analysis after the link.  And he's included a link to this thread in that portion of his post.  I do have to say that I'm especially taken with his comments about Aaron Brousard.
