I suppose that "sneer" had a point. Whatever it might have been, I really don't give a damn. I still won't be there for your GOP RINO's, or should I call them "CINO's", as in conservative in name only.

These guys, guilty or not, are being used as a warning to the rest. "Don't screw with the system that's in place." "Go outside the given parameters and you'll be sorry!"

I'm glad to read these folks support the border control people, Starwise.

Where is the justice in our country, when Border Patrol agents go to prison for doing their job, BUT an Illegal Alien who is ordered to deport, can seek and get "santuary" in a Church!?
These men should be issued a pardon and told to get on with their jobs..I'm sick of the illegals holding our Nation hostage..sick of it!

Can you take me of the ping list.
To: wolfcreek
You're absolutely right.
IMO, its really dangerous to go against what the "powers that be" want. I'm not going so far as to say who those "powers" are, but think about who has been most vocal in wanting to give illegals the silver spoon welcome and who has the power to order an aggressive prosecution. I believe this may be all part of greasing the fast track to a "North American Union".
An alternative method of thinking is that whoever it was that pushed for prosection may have been peeved that their drug connection was being interfered with. (Follow the money.)

With their supervisors on site, did they feel that they were covering anything up? Since they didn't think anyone was shot and it was observed by their superiors, I don't expect they thought it was a coverup.

"All my Mexican-Am friends are MEXICANS because they won't put up with anyone calling them Chicanos and they sure as heck don't like Hispanic or Latino. Therefore, they're MEXICANS!"
They could just call themselves "Americans" and be done with it.

Ah, but this "negligence of duty" to report shots fired, despite supervisors on the scene, was the nub of the prosecutor's case. I suspect it came down to a jury that truly wasn't their peers ("What is she saying?" "I don't know but we can stick it to La Migras now!")
Perhaps they should put this episode in the recent run of commercials hoping to enlist new Border Patrol officers. How about "Are you a sado-masochist yearning to be punished?" or "If you're good enough to fall off the turnip truck you're good enough for us!"
No offense to our BP's out there trying to do their jobs. Every offense to those trying to stab them in their backs.

"They do that, too."
Good to hear, that.
