Olmert Said Illegally Appointed Allies Aug 28 12:29 AM US/Eastern Email this story
JERUSALEM
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert illegally named political allies to a business authority when he was minister for industry and trade, officials said Monday. Olmert named four officials from his political party to key positions in the Small and Medium-Sized Business Authority, an official from the state comptroller's office, Zvi Vertikovsky, told Army Radio. A report on Olmert's involvement in the matter is slated to be released Monday, Vertikovsky said.
It was not immediately clear what criminal charges Olmert could face, if any, Vertikovsky said.
this should be enough to do the coward in
1. I hope you're right.
2. I would've hoped that his lamentable, appeasing course of non-action in the late conflict with Hezbollah would have done the trick...but I'll take his and his party's getting tossed from power any way that G-d chooses to deliver it.
Maybe.
But if this is what they use to take him down, NOT his recent actions in the war? Then it's merely cover to try to protect the others associated with him from losing their jobs. They might offer him as the sacrificial lamb, but they don't want new elections and risk their entire party losing.
Will the public take Olmert's head and be satisfied?
A reasonable punishment would be to kick him out of his home and give it to local street people. That would be less insulting than what was done in Amona.
