"CBS is taking steps to make sure that no one is caught by surprise, including informing affiliates of its plans to air the broadcast and, like the previous two telecasts, including strong warnings in the promos before the broadcast and at various points during the two-hour telecast."

Not everyone watches CBS to see what disclaimers there are. Also, this is broadcast tv, it is not like cable where a channel can be blocked. Children can see and hear too much before parents know the child/children are seeing it.

Well, most people have more than one tv in their home and more than one room homes. They could always send the kiddos out of the room. Or is there really no such thing as parental discretion? When flipping through the channels, I have been caught off guard, and guess what, I changed the channel. Then I told the kids to get back in bed, tucked them in and continued watching my show.

If they are showing it at 9 on a school night, then most kids will be in bed. If the kids are old enough to be up after that, then I am willing to bet that they have 1. already heard the f-bomb, and 2. are mature enough to handle it. If they are so fragile as to not be able to handle the profanity, they shouldn't watch the documentary at all. The horror will give them nightmares.

I really don't understand your problem. If your children are as pure as you pretend they are, then the words "fuck, shit, damn, piss and bitch" will be no more than incomprehensible noise to them.

I know those are just some of the words I used as I saw two terrorist planes hitting the towers.

Jeebus. Open your eyes. It's not like those people were taking the Lord's name in vain

Profanity is not a good thing for children, or anyone for that matter. It debases us as a whole.

That said, September 11th was a soul changing experience for anyone that paid attention. In that vein, you learn about a so-called religion, that is really just a cult. That disturbs me a whole lot more, than people in dire circumstances using profanity.

My son was 4 years old on that September morning, I vowed then to make sure he would never forget. I know it was like a movie to him that day at his young age, and I tried to amuse him with his toys and his friends that day. Horror on that scale, should not be on their plate.

I hid in the bathroom and cried my heart out on that day.

Now that he is nine, he wants to understand the causes of what happened on 9/11, and why it occured.

Life is tough. We plan on dealing with it, as we have since that day. Teach your child about this beautiful country. My son is interested in the Civil War, big time. Freedom will always come at a price. If they understand that, a few rough words won't harm them.
