"you are talking about SB1437 is still in process and hasn't hit the Governor's desk yet"

===

You are right. Thanks for the correction -- I wasn't paying attention. Time to get brain recharged by getting some sleep.

You read it too? Glad somebody else did.

ROFL! You read it? Then how did you not notice that FO's post was 100% wrong? (see post 57).
She obviously never read it and is willing to make things up in defense of her action-hero.

It is obviously a disgusting bill, and pretty lame that Arnie signed it, but if you are a private christian college, just don't take money from the state, and you won't be beholden....Yet.

When you see state monies spent to enforce a particular doctrine, such as "Sensitivity Training" (i.e. social anesthetisia), you can only presume that in due time, that doctrine will be furthered in scope.

Doubtless, those in favor of the "Anything but one man and one woman" lifestyle club are planning a two-stage attack; stage one is to starve faith-based organizations of capital, and stage two, pound them in court when they're broke. What you are seeing now is the setup for stage one. After many religious campuses are drained of students, then stage two starts, and you'll see the onslaught of lawsuits from transgendered transsexual transreligionists insisting they be made the head of every remaining religious school in the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

Did you read the bill?

No. I've read analyses of it. Arnold signed it.

Have you read it? Arnold signed it.

My understanding is that there is still no exception for religious conscience. Arnold signed it. In that respect, Arnold has endorsed coercive State powers to be exerted over churches as places of "public accommodation." Arnold signed it. If such limitations aren't explicitly prohibited in the bill, those powers will soon be incorporated by the courts and everybody with half a brain knows it; IOW, it may be "watered down" now, but it won't be for long. Arnold signed it. The law is therefore worse than you portray.

Arnold signed it.

This used to be a horrible bill, teaching in schools the accomplishements of homosexuals, etc., but Arnold told them he will veto it, so to save face they basically took out everything and just so they still have a bill,...

That is correct.

Go Ahnold!

We were talking about the bill as written and I read it and was right about that.

I was wrong about this text being a revision of an earlier version.

There are too many of these types of bills -- notice they are all being passed by the DEM Legislature.

Sacramento, California – Campaign for Children and Families is shocked and dismayed that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed SB 1441 (Kuehl). Today’s disastrous action by Schwarzenegger means Christian and other faith-based colleges in California will be forced to promote transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality if they accept students with Cal Grants.

This is outrageous...

Since when do churches receive state funding?

This bill only applies to state agencies and those who receive state funding.

And why aren't you upset with the Dem Legislature, that keeps passing these bills?!

FO and Arnold's defenders on here only see what they want to see. Reality is simply too painful for them to cope with. I find it fascinating they bent over backwards to defend policies that would have them up in arms if they came from a Democrat sitting in the Governor's chair. Apparently, having an "R" by your name is the eyes of some, a way to give a politician complete absolution from following policies that make a mockery of conservatism. If destroying traditional values IS now conservatism, then I don't recognize our philosophy anymore.

And you still look for excuses for liberal Arnold! What will take to make you wake up and see the light, FO? This is not a man who has anything in common with conservatives!

Since when do churches receive state funding?

They are places of public accommodation. They receive state services. You watch.

And why aren't you upset with the Dem Legislature, that keeps passing these bills?!

Your nose is going to be in need of strucutral engineering, given its rate of growth.

Do you have a link to that? The bill I read says nothing close to what is in your post. The actual bill.

Do you want socialized medicine in CA? Do you have any idea of the implications?

Arnold will veto that bill, while Angelides will sign it.

So whom should any sensible person vote for?

Arnold just outlawed traditional values. I'd say socialized medicine is going to be the least of this state's problems, FO.
