HURLBURT FIELD: Terrorists and their supporters around the world soon will be under the gaze of a powerful "unblinking eye" providing information on their whereabouts to a "brain" here.
The reactivation of the 11th Intelligence Squadron here marks a milestone for Air Force Special Operations Command, which gains its first intelligence squadron. The 11th IS, commanded by Lt. Col. David Hambleton, is assigned to Air Force Special Operations Forces, AFSOC's warfighting headquarters.
The squadron's mission is to process, exploit and disseminate to commanders information gathered by AFSOC's MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicles and other airborne intelligence and surveillance sources, Colonel Hambleton said.

I wonder if he's related to the Hambleton who was the subject of Bat-21. As a LTC, he's probably about the right age to be his son.

Don't you ever sleep?
A cute little 20 year Thai University student accused me a couple days ago of being a netaholic.
(No, I wasn't hitting on her.)

Well, I suppose I owe you a photo so you can decide if being a dog is a bad thing.
She's the one on the right.

Close enough I understood, but female should have been first in the phrase.

Ah - such details are beyond my limited speaking of Thai.
It has been many years since I was there - still brings a smile to my face thinking of it. I was in the middle of the country, at the Ko Kha Air Station for 18 months, in the early 1970's.

The military has changed so much since I retired in '91. My last overseas assignment was in Berlin and recently my wife and I were looking at some of our photos. I remarked to her that the military that I served in, the military geared and trained to fight the Soviets in central Europe doesn't exist anymore. I thought that all of the training, doctrine, tactics and strategy of the Cold War is about as relative to the threat today as the War of 1812. So much has changed in just a short time.

Would it be possible to be added to the SOCOM ping list. I have a son in the community.
Thanks.

True true.... in the Reagan years, my brother was in an intelligence unit with the 2nd armored cavalry in Nuremberg. Now that the 2nd AC is deployed in Iraq, the unit has been converted to psyops.
Talk about a task change.
