The public got off easy. Last time the devil was coming to get me I injured 40 people and killed at least as many during my escape. I woke up in a wheat field wearing nothing but a coin changer and a viking helmet - oh, and a pair of "water socks". But I got away from the devil nonetheless. Think what you will about this man but until El Diablo starts chasing you can't say you'd act differently.

Minor detail....he called himself a terrorist just after the incident. Well, he was under stress. Also, he attends a mosque where a 77 year-old man lost control of his car about a month ago and drove into a crowd of worshipers. Obvously just a coincidence, that.

that this was an act of Islamic terror, and lets not forget that we had another Muslim run down some people on a college campus back in the spring...in North CarolinaOf course it was his own private terrorisim...I doubt that any American outside of newsrooms believes anything other than that.

Define "terrorism." I think it's just as likely that this was simply a crazy evil son of a bitch.

Wow, that was fast - the MSM has a new excuse for him already.

Does anybody know what Omeed A. Popal's profession is?

I'll bet Tammy never suspected a thing.

See littlegreenfootballs.com for possible revenge motive. Apparently, a 77 year old driver plowed into some mosque goers in Popal's town last week. That incident was deemed an accident, however. Interesting....

From Dictionary.com:
terrorism n : the calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimindation or coercion or instilling fear
And of course, the fact that he called himself a terrorist according to at least one witness...

auto mechanic. He was on his way to an interview when he did this. Btw, check out drudge as far as apparently the guy proclaimed himself a terrorist.
To: my_pointy_head_is_sharp
No but somebody googled the name yesterday and got an Ahmed Aziz Popal who was arrested for trying to smuggle a wife and two kids into Canada. By Canadian authorities. Omeed=Ahmed?
Obviously wasn't the same guy. Unless it was a second marriage...? Maybe that was what threw him off his rocker.

"Fremont is home to the nation's largest Afghan community. Parween Amiri, 34, who knows Popal's family, worried about what Popal's arrest might mean for other area Afghans."
Eventually it will mean deportation. It could be worse, but we aren't as blood crazed as Muslims, so I doubt any will be harmed.

"The Trojan Horse of Islam"
Lets blow it up? Bet it would blow up real good? Perhaps we could just mark it "return to sender" and ship it back to the Middle east?
We already have enough crazy religious nut jobs without the Muslim kind.

He wasn't used to the lifestyle in Afghanistan. I'm sure that put a lot of pressure on him, Nekrawesh said. Your mission, Omeed, should you choose to accept it, is to return to America and kill or maim as many infidels as possible, before you go to your martyrdom. Of course, since it is Allah's will, you must accept this mission or else the delights of heaven will be forever forbidden to you. You will acquire a black Honda Pilot SUV, and use it to mow down as many infidels as possible during the allotted time. Extra points will be awarded for doing this in San Francisco where you will be able to find homosexuals to murder on every street corner. As always, should you or any member of your family be caught or killed, the Imam will disavow all knowledge of your actions. This message will self-destruct in five seconds.

I am starting to think that the Left behaves like a beaten wife who denies her husband (militant Islam) beats her and is dangerous to her and her children.
