NORWALK U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays says he has built a 19-year career in Congress finding bipartisan solutions. But with conservatives at the helm of the Republican majority and Democrats closing ranks in their bid to wrest control of the House of Representatives, what is a moderate Republican to do?
Earlier this summer, Shays, R-4, said he resorted to threatening his party's leadership as he sought to bring expanded federal funding for stem cell research to a vote. "Basically, we said that if they didn't provide a vote, then they were going to have trouble getting other legislation passed," said Shays, during a meeting with The Hour's editorial board Tuesday.

if Shays were in the mob... he'd soon find himself on a one-way trip to the Meadowlands.
Shays would lose a pillow fight.
Shay's what?
Bipartisanship = following the democrat agenda 100%
Right wing extremism = following the republican agenda 1%
Shays: I'm an important guy because I'm a weasel who really believes in nothing.
Can't recall any of his "solutions" offhand -- can someone help? ;-)
Hard to believe he's Ann Coulter's congressman.
Correction: Senator.
Au contraire, Mr. RINO.
It will simply be an "affirmation" that CT. (along with EVERY other New England state, including, sadly, N.H.) has been infiltrated with so many far-left, moonbat, Dimmi, wackos, that even an extremely liberal Republican, ("moderate", my *ss) cannot get elected due to the hijacking of the Rat party by Soros' Shadow Party.
McCain... Spector... Warner... Graham... Collins... Snowe... DeWine... Chaffee... Shays... Judas's!
That's what a RINO is?
This jerk might as well pull a Jumpin' Jim Jeffords and identify himself as a Democrat on the ballot.
It wouldn't surprise me at all that, if re-elected, he would jump to the Democrats to give them the Majority in the Senate, if it comes that close.....
Shays IS a Congressman... Dodd/Lieberman are CT's Senators.
Like a wolf needs a rabbit.
You should have left it alone the first time.
A jellyfish has more backbone than Shays.
Yeah, I was right the first time. Coffee before posting in the morning is a good idea.
Back when I had a Dimlycrat congressman named Dick Swett (Yes, that is his name), the two of them worked on something and tried to make a big deal of it. Most of us were rather underwhelmed. And Mr. Swett was a casualty of the 1994 election. Now if we could only get rid of the RINO who took his place.....
See # 16. Now I'm going to slink away in shame.
How could you forget Shays' bipartisan "statesmanship" in voting against impeachment of lying President Bubba back in 1998? I went to the "town-hall" meeting he conducted in Norwalk, CT to hear from the people what he should do. Somehow from that meeting he had the idea to "have a meeting with the President" and look into his character. Following that meeting, Congressman Shays thought it best to not vote for the impeachment charges despite the obvious violations of the law brought by the House Managers. Oh, I also recall that Shays' wife got some kind of new job from the Clinton Administration a few months after the impeachment saga. Maybe some Freeper has a better memory than I do and can refresh that detail.
