I suggest everyone watch "Sleeper Cell". A showtime seriesavailable on dvd. It is frightening how these terrorists effectively "blend in".
This is a perfect example.

The gang's ringleader was the civil-rights coordinator for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, a Washington-based nonprofit leading the charge against airport and subway terror profiling.

If we (as a country) are unwilling to see the enemey living amoung us, one day in the near future, we will wake up dead. And for the record, should Denver get nuked and I stop posting, please take revenge in my name.

Great pretenders. Remember how people described some of the 9/11 hijackers as being "nice & polite"? We're being invaded. And I'm afraid a lot of people don't even realize it.

In Chandia's car, not surprisingly, federal investigators found a CD-ROM containing videos that glorified Osama bin Laden and the 19 hijackers.

The guy was afraid to hurt a tree? BS.

I live in the DC area and never heard about this until today. I sent the following to the WMAL news director -

Ali Asad Chandia, an Islamic terrorist hiding as a third grade teacher in this area, was convicted of terrorism five days ago. Not one time has this been mentioned on your station. Instead, you have your morning crew take pot shots at Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, President Bush, and other syndicated hosts at your station - Bryan Nehman making fun of Sean Hannity two mornings ago. I did a search on your site for this individual and he is not listed. You do your listeners a disservice by not telling them the news - especially when it concerns this area.

It is sad when they refuse to report terrorist activity going on in the area you live in.

You got that right! His supporters say he would not ever hurt anyone but when the chips are down, he issues a threat! We are dealing with true evil!

And CAIR (or the ACLU) always seems to be invlolved in these cases one way or another. I hope it's raising suspicion at the FBI.

I was never ever frightened
by the murderer on our block.
He nurtured orchids and raised hamsters,
The neighborhood is still in shock

"After his conviction, some 350 Muslims including Islamic scholars, activists and other leaders, as well as government employees and contractors, donated generously to his defense fund."

There is no such thing as a "moderate Muslim". They are all terrorists or terrorist supporters.

These 350 Muslims should also be arrested and tried as terrorist supporters for contributing to this terrorists defense fund.

I don't know what's worse. The liberal who goes on and on about evil America, thus creating more jihadis. Or the silent jihadi types that get along with everyone while providing support.

Deport them.

This is exactly why it I have zero sympathy for muslims, and their supporters; especially in the US, when they start crying about feeling victimized, because people are lumping them together with the rabid killer variety. Here a large group of "probably" regular muslims had the opportunity to speak out against those in their midst that support terrorism, and what message do we get? "He's such gentle guy...he wouldn't even hurt a tree...it's a witch hunt...praise be to those that support his cause."

Even if this is statistically a small number of muslims, spoutings should be drowned out by "probably" regular muslims crying out in outrage that is guy was supporting terrorists.

Easier said than done, my friend. Besides, many of them are citizens. How do you "deport" a native born citizen? Send him back to Marin county?

"..told the judge Chandia's so gentle he wouldn't hurt a tree branch in his yard. "I said to Ali that I may need to cut the branch (but) he asked that I not hurt the tree..."

No doubt that America's trees are safe, but what about America's human Infidels? The Hadith (Islamic traditions attributed to Mohammed) answers that question:

"The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Muslims make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!'"

And the ROP has similar quotes urging "holy" murder of other infidels. Too many non-muslims do not know the underlining religious fanaticism driving the Chandias of the world or their ultimate goal - but every Muslim DOES KNOW.

If America is to survive this new enemy, sooner rather than later, every Muslim who supports these would be murderers must be treated as enemy collaborators.

"Chandia, for his part, was unrepentant to the end. Upon his sentencing, Chandia lashed out at prosecutors, warning "their judgment is on the way." There you have it folks....enough said.

Unless it was crystal clear he was speaking of the afterlife, I'd have tacked a few years on for the threat to the prosecutors well being.
