Gosh! You must hang around some pretty unclean smokers! How about a little personal hygiene like bathing, washing hair, brushing teeth........you get the picture.
And washing clothes helps a lot as well.
I never ever had anyone refer to me that I STINK because I smoke. I take care of myself buddy! But if a person wears the same clothes and they reek and the person doesn't bath regularly or wash hair and brush teeth, of course they are going to stink.
My hubby used to be a heavy duty mechanic and he would come home smelling like gas and oil. But after a shower, he was back to smelling good, and he smoked!
Try hanging with people who care about personal hygiene, how about it!
And GET HIGH? What planet are YOU on? We aren't talking POT here ole young one!
You said, in part: I never ever had anyone refer to me that I STINK because I smoke. I take care of myself buddy! But if a person wears the same clothes and they reek and the person doesn't bath regularly or wash hair and brush teeth, of course they are going to stink.

Few people would have the lack of class to tell a smoker that he or she smells bad, but the fact is, they do. I have never smoked, but when I livd with my parents I stunk, because the cigarette smoke gets in all the clothes in your closet and everywhere else. I agree that a shower cleans ther person off (until they start smoking again after the shower), but at least in a house where two people smoke 2-3 packs a day, everything else really , smells. The smoker can't smell it because he or she is so used to it, just as your husband probably didn't realize how much he smelled of oil and gas when he came home. My first job was at a Red Lobster restaurant, and I came home every night reeking of fried fish, but I thought little of it, because I had spent hours with the smell. My family didn't hesitate to let me know though.
All of that said, I don't favor outlawing tobacco. I just stay away from it if I can, and tolerate it when I can't.
