Repub News Headline: Wilson whining and dying across America
Dem News: Wilson wining and dining across America!
Excellent summary. I am sending this to our local fishwrap editor/publisher along with the Compost's admission last Friday that this was a lie from the beginning.
"* Richard Armitage, the deputy secretary of state under Colin Powell, was the first to reveal that Wilson's wife was a CIA employee. He blabbed carelessly to Bob Woodward of the Washington Post, then to columnist Robert Novak, who mentioned it in a July 2003 column. Armitage, after admitting this to the FBI in October 2003, stood by silently year after year as Vice President Cheney, Cheney's chief of staff Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, and other White House officials were blamed for what he had done, and President Bush suffered politically. Loyalty is not Armitage's strong suit.
* Colin Powell, Bush's friend and secretary of state in the first Bush term, knew what Armitage had done and never let on. He met with Bush countless times as the White House was being pummeled in the media and by Demo crats for outing a CIA agent to take revenge on her husband. Bush called publicly for the leaker to be identified. Powell knew the identity, but remained silent. Some friend."
Powell is as guilty as Wilson and Armitage. He will be reviled by conservatives long past the rest of his miserable life.
What Fitzy did was criminal. He should go on trial in federal court and civil court and lose his license to practice law as well as terminated for cause.
Schumer and the other mentally ill rats, show classical and serious mental disorders when they ignore the damage they have done when confronted with it.
Now we learn that Andy Card wanted to make Armitage head of the CIA!!!! Even assuming Card's ignorance of the Armitage role in Pflamegate, that was a gigantic lapse of judgment and a monumental display of ignorance -- it was well known that Armitage was waging verbal warfare against Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al and if Armitage had been installed at the top of the CIA that would have been a disaster. I really have questioned Card's judgment (Miers, etc.) for a long time and this makes me think he really hasn't served President Bush or the country very well.....
So when did Card leave? That answers a lot of questions.
