SAO PAULO, Brazil - A packed school bus plunged into the ocean after crashing into a car on a seaside road in southern Brazil Friday, injuring all 26 children aboard, authorities said.
Three of the children were hospitalized in serious condition after the morning accident near Florianopolis, some 435 miles south of Sao Paulo, the Brazilian federal highway police said.
The children, aged between 8 and 14, were on their way to school when the accident happened, police said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, but authorities said it appeared the bus driver lost control after being cut off by the car. The driver was also injured.

The media seems to have missed the big picture here.
WTF
this is one headline I'm glad was deceptive
No, that's not what happened. Read it again. No plunging off a cliff here:
The bus veered off the road after colliding with the car and went straight into the water, dropping several feet before ending up partially submerged, authorities said.
It had to go off a cliff, the water didn't lap up against the road.
"...injuring all 26 children aboard..."
At least they didn't die, and still have a chance. Prayers for all of them.
So in your mind, roads are either built at sea level or on a cliff? Based on the article YOU posted, this is more than likely a road slightly elevated above sea level. Driving off a cliff would entail dropping more than "several feet". Besides, the media wouldn't have been able to resist the word "cliff".
Regardless of how many feet it fell, it fell into the ocean and I am amazed everyone lived.
When I saw the headline, I wondered what Nagin was doing in Brazil.
I'm glad it was a happy ending too.
Yeah, maybe it's the Nagin effect!
Praise God that all those kids survived!
CNN's Christiane Amanpour on location in Brazil:
"You mean none of those kids died in that bus wreck??"
"WHERE'S MY STORY!!?"
Do you mean Christiane Amanpour with her snotty accent didn't imply Bush had anything to do with this?
Oh, yes, forgot to Blame Bush.

Good one! I'll bookmark that baby!
There was a period around '94, was it? One of their national sports legends, a Brasilian race car driver, died in a car accident. It stunned the whole nation and the roads, for at least a little while, calmed down. Every person slowed down and start easing up on other people. Remember how after 9/11 everyone had American flags in their car and driving on the road was a polite and pleasant experience? That's how it was down there. For about a month or so...
So yeah, hearing they cut off buses with small children, too? Easily believable.
Fortunately their gaurdian angel was on the job that day. It's pretty much a miracle there were no deaths. I Thank God no one was killed, but pray the homicidal maniac in the car meets "sudden and extreme" justice.
So Martin, if you ever swing by this part of Boca, let me know. I'll take you around our "Little Brasil". You should see our Padaria. How do they get all those hot lookin' women baking bread at 6:00AM? I go for the food though, honestly. Married and Happy...Married and Happy... ; )
