I know that this doesn't compare to these attrocities, but we should take into consideration the pain that the dislocation of a full ten percent of the population causes. It must be countelss Cubans all over the world who await the liberation of their relatives on the island.

My little hometown of St. Augustine has ancient, historical links with Cuba. I've heard these reports from folks who lived through them. There is no doubt in my mind.
I grew up, and attended school, with kids who had personal experiences that could make you cringe. I never questioned a thing they told me.
CUBA LIBRE!

I you had to hang the 2000 presidential election on the turn of a single event, that would be it. Gore's buddy kissed off 30,000 votes, only to lose by 537. Elian's birthday should be a Republican holiday, worthy of celebration and rememberance, if for no other reason, just to rub it in.
