It's for reasons like this that family has to ok "pulling the plug" and the physician in charge of transplanting is different from the one responsible for the patient's care.

Read the article I linked to in post #316. I realize if you wait until the body is cold, it's too late to harvest the organs. But couldn't we at least wait until they're dead before harvesting the organs?

It doesn't mean that they're not in cahoots.

Besides, too often the family is put under tremendous pressure to do that, or in some cases the state takes over. Look at Terri. She was murdered, even though they couldn't use her organs cause of the starvation and dehydration.

Or the family is outright lied to about the outcome of the patient.
