Why interrupt tv for that? He never interrupts tv, even for major announcements.
Somebody over at the WH is smoking weed this morning to request time for THIS trivial announcement.
Hopefully he will call it World War Three today.

When is Bush going to give a primetime speech telling the American people what would happen if we left Iraq, giving a perspective of how serious the global war on terror really is.. and then call it World War Three.

The ABC banner is saying it's about HVP getting same protections as other prisoners? Doesn't seem to warrent breaking into soaps in my opinion?
Maybe bin Laden? One can hope. After all, it's very peculiar what Pakistan did, washing its hands of the problem in its own territory. One might almost think that something big has occurred, which Musharraf does not want to take any credit for, lest his fellow Muslims regard him as a traitor.
Maybe somebody "special" is in one of those secret CIA prisons.
I just don't believe it'll be trivial...911 folks present and all. There's just no way the President would break into scheduled programming to talk about gitmo trials and have the 911 families there.
There's more to the story, as we will find out in a couple of hours.

If that's all then what a waste of time.
Seems as though it may be something the Prez wants to break and it is big enough that it would be impossible to keep quiet for very long.
Even if this turns out to be less than "earth shattering" news I have no problem with them using the resources they have to create a greater sense of urgency about our national security and the threats we face. And I'll applaud them for getting out in front of any announcement they expect to be controversial.
