2 reasons I am making these disclosures today :

1. Our questioning of these terrorists is basically complete and it is time to proceed to trials

2. The Supreme Court has made a decision which has painted us into a corner regarding Military Tribunals. The based this decision on a Geneva Convention Article which is vague and could be interpreted many different ways.

Wants Congress to make a list of things they think would fall under the war time act

Reason for this announcement today:

1) Finished questioning the men and have to bring them into the open

2) Court rulings have impaired military commissions. Prohibits outrages on personal dignity and humiliating treatment. Those are vague and undefined and can interprted differently. SOme believe our military personnel who question terrorists could be at risk under war crimes act simply for doing their jobs in a professional way. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Our military personnel go face to face with the most dangerou smen every day and they've worked day and night to find out what the terrorists know to stop attacks.

We owe them our thanks for keeping us safe and clear rules so they can continue to do their jobs.

So today I'm asking Congress to clarify the rules for our personnel fighting the war on terror.

I'm asking Congress to list the specific violatins that would be under the war crimes act.

I'm asking Congress make explicit by following the standards of the detainnee act....(couldn't get it)

I'm asking Congress to make it clear that captured Terrorists can't use the Geneva conventions to sue our personel in US courts. The men and women who protect us shouldn't fear prosecution because they're doing their jobs.

The need for this is urgent.

correct. he has laid it at Congress' feet.

and who is congress? they are the people's representatives, its up to the people now.

honestly, I think Bush is (and this is not a criticism) fed up with this crap. if a majority of americans are too stupid to protect themselves, and would rather terrorists have F Lee Bailey representing - then to hell with us.

ROFLMAO.

Hahaha. Oh man. I LOVE righteous indignation. He is basically looking at all these idiots and saying: OK wise guys, quit dithering around and help me win this thing on behalf of our men and women in the field.

HAHAHAHA. (Oh, and by the way, we don't have a "plan.")

All TV coverage has a 5 second delay compared to radio.

LOL. They are afraid the President will use a swear word and that the FCC will fine them.

AND that documentary showing the president being assassinated in Toronto. Maybe that's why the secret service is out in greater force. The news of its existence alone will motivate those on the edge to threaten the president.

Congress is to list specific recognizable offenses under the war crimes act, Congress makes explicit that we are following Article 3, Congress must make it plain that detainees cannot sue our military.

OK!! Another bill to Congress that puts dems on the spot!!! AND he wants this legislation passed within the next few weeks!!!

Gob bless you, Mr. President, and thank you Lord for Karl Rove!!!
