With the War Powers Act, resolutions authorizing force are as close as a President can get to a declaration of war.

Then maybe the President and Congress should have used the full process to declare war properly. If they had, the Patriot Act would have been unnecessary and the laws against sedition would have come into play.

We aren't fighting a war; we haven't fought one since World War II.

We are at war, though. It just isn't our war. It is their war, the enemy has brought this. We could still make it our war by declaring war even now. But, we can't call off the war since it isn't our war. That's where the MSM and the other political types are wrong. We can't stop the war.
