Political Corruption is nothing new, especialy in Chicago. But neverhteless someone has to pay at some point. Yet we can look deeply into a man's legacy and by comparison with others like him who had evil in their past, but later were redeemed by the good they did or the public overlooked their wrongs. Our history is filled with such people. My main concern is that Ryan used his courage and compassion to suspend the death penalty that victimized a minority group that had little sympathy for their own people. He tried to rescue the lives of wrongly convicted black people whose lives were wasted for crimes they did not do. This occurred through traditional legal corruption which targetted people whose social intelligence failed to even question a system that victimized their own brothers and sisters.
It is too bad that well placed colored people or religious black preachers could not bring themselves to acknowledge or support Ryan who stuck his neck out to terminate a questionable legal practice that targetted innocent men of color. None of us is pure or innocent.
