There's no distortion involved at all. The failure to discourage treasonous and illegal behavior has led directly to this escalation. I and many others have been pointing out for years now that if nothing was done, escalating outrages were inevitable. And thus we have the situation today.

In whose hands lies the power to do something about it? And if the choice is made not to do something about it, does not a part of the responsibility fall on that person? If the power were in my hands, and I failed to use it where appropriate, then part of the responsibility would fall on me.

The President has had a legal duty to stop overtly treasonous activities on the part of our domestic insurrection, and thus if he fails to do so he is partially the author of his own fate.

I'm just seeing the bottom line here.

You see an article about a madwoman who would like to kill the President, and you blame him for it.

And now you've done it twice. If someone assassinates him, it's his own fault.
