I hate it when people fail to distinguish between discrimination based on what a person is, and discrimination based on what a person does or believes. Hating a person because they're Arab is racism. Hating a person because they want to slay the infidels is wise.

You're right in regard to Arabs, but the writer didn't mention Arabs. We must avoid equating Arab with Muslim, for a great many Muslims are not Arabian, and many Arabs are not Muslim. In fact, a not inconsiderable number of Arabs are Christians.
In war, you can kill a soldier on the other side without hating him. You can do it with disgust for the act, and probably should. But it still needs to be done.
Not all Arabs are Muslims, and not all Muslims are Arab.
