ABC plans to make minor changes to its docudrama on the run-up to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in response to heated complaints from former Clinton administration officials that a number of scenes are fabricated, a network executive said yesterday.
Thomas H. Kean, the Republican who chaired the 9/11 commission and is a co-executive producer of the film, said in an interview that he recently asked for changes that would address complaints raised by the former aides to President Bill Clinton and that ABC is considering his request.
"These are people of integrity," Kean said of the filmmakers. "I know there are some scenes where words are put in characters' mouths. But the whole thing is true to the spirit of 9/11."
The ABC executive said the "adjustments and refinements" are "intended to make clearer that it was general indecisiveness" by federal officials that left the country vulnerable to terrorist attacks, "not any one individual."
The executive, who requested anonymity because the network is making only written comments, said small revisions have been underway for weeks.

Reid (Nev.) and four Democratic colleagues wrote to Robert Iger, chief executive of the Walt Disney Co., ABC's corporate parent, urging him to cancel the movie. The Democratic National Committee obtained more than 100,000 signatures on a petition demanding cancellation. Jay Carson, a spokesman for former president Bill Clinton, called ABC's plan to air the movie "despicable."
The six-hour docudrama, scheduled for broadcast Sunday and Monday, depicts such former Clinton officials as Madeleine K. Albright, Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger and Richard Clarke as undermining efforts to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.

Please don't go there it makes us all look as stupid and whacked out as the conspiratorial leftys. The FBI file scandal was a scrap of red meat thrown to us by the GOP to whip up the base. I am still a little bitter that I ever fell for having my chain jerked like that by my own party. Accept it. There was no there...there and we were all lead by the nose to be more upset than we needed to be.

Hundreds of other FBI files, including many of staff members who worked on the National Security Council under Republican administrations, were also delivered. It is unclear as yet how many of those acquisitions were unjustified.

Yes I do and I will tell you why. I read all the depositions collected by Larry Klayman. They were on his website. There was nothing that indicated that there was a deliberate confiscation and misuse of the files. The most telling deposition was Linda Tripp's. She was very meticulous and honest in her testimony and I saw nothing in her testimony that I would be able to use to find Nussbaum and others guilty. She herself would not testify that she was certain of their guilt. As I recall Klayman's investigation died on the vine and so did Starr's. I am not saying that an investigation wasn't called for it was. But the hysteria that was whipped up around it was way over the top. It antagonized the Dems and fed into the whole bitterness of that time. Just my opinion. And don't think I was Clinton fan, I detested him and all his jackals and sock puppets.

Please. It is poor thinking to assume that Clinton would use the FBI files of ABC writers, editors and executive to pressure them to change a TV show. First we have to assume he got the files. But when? Recently? How? Did the Bush Administraion give them to him? Or does he still have them from over 10 years ago. Second we have to assume that these writers, editors and exectives (if there are files on them at all) have all done something that Clinton can hold over their heads. But what? What did they do?

I am sick of how the Dems use things to their convenience...what happened to their righteous indignation during the Michael Moore 911 campaign...they werent interested in the facts then...now all of a sudden they are crying like a bunch of babies...whats the matter? afraid Clinton will be held accountable? Good old "Bubba" and his Billy-Bob Mob!!! Not only should ABC show this miniseries unexpurgated, but drop a friendly reminder to the senators that if their show is breached or their network is interfered with in any way, shape, or fashion, they can kiss any positive form of Election 2006 coverage right down the toilet; furthermore, anyone who duly interferes with malice aforethought with the show - Google bombing, protests, etc - will be prosecuted by Disney and ABC networks for triple damages.
This is one instance that the Democrats show themselves as the absolute totalitarian Marxists they really are. And the best thing? "Bubba" BJ Clinton and his minions, i.e., the Billy-Bob Mob are squirming. This will cost them HUGE in the midterms if they make one singular change, as it is forcing Americans to make the choice between petulant morons with giant egos, and people who actually give a damn about what happened in 9/11.
