BS! You didn't have Republican senators writing letters threatening to revoke CBS license.

Take that moral equivalence crap elsewhere.

I actually have no problem what so ever with the DUmmies of the world petitioning ABC, or Boycotting Disney, or calling their local stations to criticize the movie. In fact, I am 100% behind those types of actions (think the Reagan movie, or the Dixie Chicks, etc.). What I am against is the blatantly Unconstitutional role of Senate Democrats threatening to use the FCC against them if they run this movie. That, IMHO, is a direct violation of the "Congress shall make no laws...." First Amendment violation.

100% wrong.

This is absolutly different. There were no senatorial extorsion threats.

There was no website spoofing.

There was no sheeeer MONEY involved.

In that case it was over the memory of a dead man who many considered a friend and also respected.

In that case two homsoexuals admitted they were making up stuff wholesale.

In the Path to 9/11 the producers followed the 9/11 REPORT the democrats wanted to be produced! This is about protecting Hitlary. The Reagans was shown on showtime much to the panning and ridicule because of the pathetic lies that even the left could not support.

In the path to 9/11 the clintonistas are tryint to CENSOR THE 9/11 REPORT.

They wanted the 9/11 report, now that people will see the contents of the report, the clintonistas want the 9/11 report burned.

An absolutely false assertion. The outcry over the Reagan miniseries came from individuals, not elected officials threatening the corporation that owns the network.

Au Contraire! There are many differences. The pressure was not exerted on CBS by any government figures, but rather, by consumers. “The Reagans”, was a portrayal of the Regan’s personal life; to be released while he was checking out, and in the grip of Alzheimer's disease. That show was not about actions which were done as a President, and therefore a matter of public interest.

Nine ll has crystallized the war in which Islamicfascist have invested all of their energies to destroy America. We as a nation need to understand it as thoroughly as possible, even if it means risking some factoids, which may not measure up to a proof of truth. Isn’t that what democracy is all about? Freedom of speech so that each individual can come to their own conclusion?

P.S.

I was just banned and my comment deleted when I wrote this same thing at Democratic Underground. Is that the kind of America which you wish to pass on to your children?

CBS CEO-Chairman Leslie Moonves cancelled The Reagans. CBS has canceled its scheduled showing of the miniseries "The Reagans" amid fierce criticism of its portrayal of former President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy. CBS had caved in to complaints from conservatives .

In a statement issued today, the network insisted, however, its decision had nothing to do with the backlash from Reagan supporters.
The miniseries, originally scheduled to air Nov. 16 and 18, was shown on CBS' sister pay-cable network Showtime.

"A free broadcast network, available to all over the public airwaves, has different standards than media the public must pay to view. We do, however, recognize and respect the filmmakers' right to have their voice heard and their film seen. As such, we have reached an agreement to license the exhibition rights for the film to Showtime, a subscriber-based, pay-cable network. We believe this is a solution that benefits everyone involved.

"This was not an easy decision to make. CBS does tackle controversial subjects and provide tough assessments of prominent historical figures and events, as we did with films such as 'Jesus,' '9-11' and 'Hitler.' We will continue to do so in the future."
