My daddy told me young... never bring home the squirrels or rabbits you shoot in late summer. They're always buggy and fulla'worms. ;)

I've seen squirrels here in the Mobile area with these bumps. The squirrels will scratch the skin hairless around the bumps.

Cutebra spp also infect rabbits, cats and dogs. The fly eggs were laid and ingested months ago by the flies and the parasite migrates to the subcutaneous tissues where the larvae grows to the size described. I have seen them in the nasal region of cats, neck, ears and numerous other locations. When the larvae cut off the airway from infection and swelling they are lethal. Some of the parasite larvae migrate to the brain of the cat and ultimately cause seizures and death of the feline.

"The lumps are subcutaneous warbles and they are caused by the larvae of insects commonly known as bot flies."
"Bot" larvae? Is there a human strain? Must be, but why do they prefer leftists? Bad hygiene?
