thanks Lib, for adding to the thread the statement from Jefferson's lawyers. Gotta hand it to them, they are bold, this is almost daring them to indict Jefferson.

Isn't taking the bribe as bad as giving it? Inquiring minds want to know.

If Jackson is guilty of bribing William Jefferson, DemocRAT Lousiana, wouldn't Jefferson be guilty of taking bribes?

I know I'm not the only one wishing Jackson was Jordan and Billy Jeff was BJ Clintoon himself.

"Vernon Jordan and William Jefferson Clinton"

How sweet would that be?

Just one question... Who writes the laws... the guys who pay the bribes or the guys who get them?

What is pathetic is that the politician will probably do less time than the guy who felt pressured to pay off the politician. That is not to excuse the briber, but the briber usually just reacts to the bribee.

Using my secret Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Decoder Ring and examining Karl Rove's tie, I've come to the conclusion that these charges will be filed the day the DNC releases their next culture of corruption PR.

And of course, the congresscritter's response will be 'this is just politics.' Of course, someone's going to jail for seven years, but it's just politics.
