But strangely enough, there are mysterious organisms that can thrive in Di-Hydrous Oxide.

We know little about these organisms and/or their intentions. They might be trying to take over the world AS WE SPEAK!

I know a guy who was Navy. He was ordered to be fully immersed in DHMO, and he said despite the special suit and all, the stuff frequently got on him. He thinks he may once have swallowed some!

Did it affect him? You bet.

He sits around now in front of the tube and drinks a mix of ethanol, dihydrogen monoxide, and carbonic acid. He gets it in aluminum cylinders. He claims that the stuff is produced to government specs and that it's for sale in every PX except for Rihaud.

I remember one time, when I was exercising, I found myself exuding DHMO from my very skin!!!

Can you imagine the horror of finding DHMO being exuded from your skin? People were screaming and running around as if I were the harbinger of DOOM... or this case DHMO.

:-P

While I agree that buying large amounts should require a permit or some kind of oversight

Why hassle thousands of farmers, and landscapers? Terrorists or others bent on misusing the stuff will just buy it in small lots. At WalMart, Lowes, HomeDepot, etc, etc, etc.

Gasoline is fairly dangerous too. Time to restrict sales of this dangerous bomb making material too.

And that other ingredient required for an ANFO bomb, fuel oil, although diesel will work as well. So will gasoline, or a mixture of all three, or any two. There are also substitutes for the ammonium nitrate for the role of oxidizer. AN is just the easiest to find and procure.

"...half ton of one of the world's most dangerous bomb-making materials" = ammonium nitrate

ie = half a ton of fertilizer. About 10 minutes output from ABC news...

Will ABC try to use TATP or RDX the next time around?

I'd encourage them to use the TATP. Fools would likely blow themselves up.

Imagine the howls about the threat to OUR LIBERTY, if they had required registering the purchase....

Do you realize that that stuff has a pH much higher than concentrated sulfuric acid?

LOL!

Also DHMO has caused billions of dollars of property damage in the Midwest, and recently California. Several years ago a large DHMO spill 14 miles away from Johnstown, PA, killed 2,209 people in the town, including 99 entire families and 396 children under the age of 10.

Scary, ain't it. Millions of people were fed diluted acetic acid derived from apples during the nineteenth century, nearly all of them are dead and the rest are not expected to survive much longer.

I'll tell you what's really scary. In less than 150 years from now, every man, woman and on Earth is going to die!

It's Bush's fault.

Dear Knight,

Better to be silent, some times. This was one such time. Have you considered what can be done with a simple BBQ propane tank?

Try googl-ing fuel air device.

In a free, technologically advanced society, destructive devices are always at hand. The answer is not limiting access to such potential materials.

The answer is making the consequences totally beyond any wild eyed Jihaddi's possible acceptance. Think neutron bombing all Muslims, for instance.
