I don't follow sports, I so I never heard of this guy. If that's all I ever hear about him, he's still a great man.

As A lifetime NY Giants fan I can really appreciate what Ernie has done. You can/could see the towers from the parking lot at Giants stadium.
Go Giants

The Giants (Wellington Mara) have always been a class organization, and Ernie Acorsi is a great contributor. He will be missed when he's gone, but he has a good shot of going out a Super Bowl Champion. He deserves it. Go Giants!

Ok, I'm not trying to be a cynic, but wouldn't she qualify for millions of dollars as a survivor of a 9/11 victim?
Why is he paying her tuition?

I am a dyed in the wool Cowboys fan, also, but I have always had a "soft spot" for the Giants. I especially liked them back when Parcells was the coach and Phil Simms was the QB. Since I am from NC, I also liked LT, despite his problems off the field. He was a truly great player.
It does not surprise me in the least that the Giants have such an outstanding man in their organization. He has truly made a difference in this young girl's life and has chosen to give more than his money to help her. It would have been easy for him to write a check and forget it. Instead, he has also given her his time and,as you can tell from the story, a large part of his heart - things that can not be purchased with money.
