The whole thing about babies being born into poverty and it's better for them to be aborted is simply racisim trying to disguise itself. Rather than demand that parents step up, society recommends the child is murdered.
I once told someone that that comment was one of the most racist one I has heard in a long time....he didn't know what to say. Abortion has a long racist history.

China forces abortions on it's women. They've constructed themselves a nice slave labor work-force. The factory workers live in dormitories, ten girls to a room and typically work a 12 hour day, six days a week. The companies provide food and "entertainment" to keep the work-force "happy" and use certain psychological techniques to mold them into compliant, productive workers. It doesn't appear that the concept of "family" is a high priority (at least for the companies). These girls don't have many options, it's either that, or starve in the countryside. The government has been confiscating farmland.

Rocking in the Youth
All these movements are designed to EMPOWER the youth to embrace self-improvement, self-worth, self-RESPONSIBILITY --- all good conservative values of home and faith.
Yes they have socialist backgrounds, but anyone with any history knowledge at all realizes that the political "isms" rise and fall in a sine-wave pattern just like weather and most other natural processes.
The conservative ideals of home and faith are rising back to the tope passing by the progressive self and evil that is now falling towards the pit.
