In the last election, George W. Bush received 11 percent of the black vote, an increase of 2 percent from the 2000 race, and more than any Republican presidential candidate in history.

Actually, republicans probably recieved 100% of the black vote up until 1932; they were traditionally the champions of civil rights, while the dems. were segregationists. (It was Woodrow Wilson who segregated DC for the first time, for example.)

That either is a typo or the writer is quite a moron. As recently as 1960 I believe Nixon got about a quarter of the black vote. Unless Bush received a larger number of black votes.
