Let's not kid ourselves. What we're seeing as a hissy-fit from the Clinton Syndicate is simply standard "War Room" strategy and methodology. The sheeple (that 49% who voted for Al Gore in '00 and that 48% who voted for Kerry in '04) where trained for the past 12 years to believe that Clinton can do no wrong, and for the past 6 years to believe that Bush can do nothing right. The frustrating thing about the Clinton era was that you could lay all the facts before the sheeple showing Clinton was a scoundrel, or worse, and they (the sheeple) wouldn't get it. The sheeple are made up of a combination of the morally bankrupt, the inherently ignorant, the socially dysfunctional, the chronic dependents upon government programs, and the blindly partisan -- they are predisposed to disbelieve anything bad about Clinton, and to believe everything evil about Bush and Republicans. To us, the Clinton Syndicated "protesteth too much" about "Path to 9/11," but their howls are the Pavlovian bell intended to awaken the sheeple to once again disbelieve the truth about Bill Clinton, and to imagine the worst about Geo. W. Bush, to innoculate Clinton and the Democrats against a public backlash for fecklessness in the war on terror. Sure, we're being had here, but it's our own fault. We assume that the sheeple will finally see the light of day and turn on their patron saint. This won't be the case.

I'll predict that ABC News will do a snap poll on Monday night asking the sheeple who is more responsible for 9/11, and the majority will say Geo. W. Bush.

Let's not kid ourselves.

On January 20, 2001, GWB was inaugurated POTUS.

Due to the Gore challenge after the 2000 elections and all that ensued in the courts, the Bush transition team was denied offices and access in Washington until 12/14/01.

Sand bagged from the beginning.

US Presidential elections are held in November, but the President's term of office does not expire until January 20 of the following year. Presidents, or and other politicians, will usually assemble a "transition team" of some sort, to prepare for a smooth transfer of power following the inauguration. The President often works closely with the President-elect on important policy matters during the last three months of the President's Term, so as to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations that have significant national interests. (Wikipedia)

The new administration fought for Cabinet appointments to be approved in the Senate for the next 6 months. Most of the bureaucracies holdovers from the Clinton regime remained in place. This includes the FBI, CIA, NSA, State and Justice. Intelligence that had been passed on to the new president came from these entities in their daily briefings.

The Clinton economy ( the Dot Com Boom) was tanking. President Bush was pushing for tax cuts to prod the economy into recovery (June of 2001). The previous Clinton budget was not due to expire until October, 2001. Scandals were erupting in the business world.

- Jeffery Skilling, who had replaced Kenneth Lay as Enron CEO in December 2000, abruptly quit in August 2001 and Lay took over, resuming his old CEO post.

WorldCom, Inc.*, a giant telecommunications company, set the record for accounting fraud. WorldCom first revealed that company financial officers had concealed more than $3 billion in business losses. Later revelations upped that figure to more than $9 billion.

Congress recessed in August as is their wont. A month off from the people's business.

September 11th 2001.

193 days.
