I think that the Philadelphia Inquirer is suffering from lack of subscribers. I wouldn't touch that slimy publication - and I expect that many potential readers (those who can read) in the suburbs of Philadelphia act in the same way. (Those in the city most likely cannot read).
I don't know what or who convinced the corporation that putting out lies in their "news", and publishing convincing adverts that would get readers to trust and patronize their sponsors, would be a successful strategy. Clearly, corporate management wasn't paying any attention to business; or they pirated the corporate assets to foster their twisted point of view. It would be a long road back.
