You would have to have the morals and principles of a Democrat to vote for Chaffeee. If all you can think of is winning, no matter if the "victory" supports democratic causes, you are no conservative. Sometimes you have to support a candidate who you do not agree with on every issue, but to support evil, someone who is against every conservative value like Chaffee, is to surrender to evil itself for the sake of a "victory".

don't tell me Chaffee is some kind of "satan" - OK, he's not a conservative, but he's not the devil. we get a few votes out of him (he voted for Roberts), he votes to organize the senate with us.

electing Chaffee and Kean Jr, enables other good senators like Coburn and others on our side - to be in the majority. that's the way you have to look at it, you have to look at each race individually.
