John Murtha uses 9/11 to brag about pork
John Murtha Campaign site ^

Posted on 09/11/2006 8:23:18 AM PDT by xpertskir

John Murtha is using the 5 year anniversary of 9/11 to brag about his abilities to throw pork at any problem that comes his way. Instead of offering a solemn note of remembrance, he has instead decided to generate a list of all the monies he has directed to the Flight 93 memorial(located in his district). This proves one thing, not only has John Murtha forgotten about exactly what happened on the fateful day 5 years ago, he has also neglected to realize how it has changed the world. I guess it wasn’t enough to use thousands of dead U.S. soldiers and Iraqi’s to help catapult him to a position of power within his party. He now needs to use the thousands of innocent citizens killed on 9/11 to brag about his abilities to “bring home the bacon.” You would think someone who served in the Marines and represented this country in U.S. Congress for over 3 decades would have some class. Unfortunately Murtha’s continuing lack of class is evident. Not only does he not understand the war we are fighting, he trivializes every sacrifice made each time he opens his mouth. This man truly makes my stomach turn.

If Murtha had been on Flight 93 5 years ago today, he would have been telling his fellow passengers to not provoke the terrorists, sit down, follow the instructions of the hijackers, and "everything will be fine".

And Murtha could have completed that express flight back to the Capitol building, but probably not in the way he would have been expecting.

That POS might have served in the Corps, but he was never a Marine, not in spirit, not in honor, certainly not in GUTS!

Their leftiness has made them all insane. Or vice versa, I'm not sure which it is.

You are, obviously, not familiar with Gridlock's Law of Total Moronic Convergence.

You see, according to GLTMC, Lefties believe in the power of Government to do whatever Government wants to do. Therefore, when bad things happen, like 9/11, high oil prices or the Boston Red Sox winning the World Series, it must be because the Government made those bad thing happen. Thus their Leftiness leads to ranting conspiracy-mongering moonbattery, commonly known as "insanity".

And, of course, on the other side of the coin, one would have to be insane to be a Lefty in the first place, because in order to be a Lefty, one must deny all sorts of unambiguous factual and historical information that clearly indicates that Leftist policies leads to nothing but disaster.

So it all wraps up in a neat little package, see? Leftiness leads to insanity and insanity leads to Leftiness. QED.

What we see in this is the way the democrats view this war, just politics, bring home the bacon. They see it the same way they look at (say) a highway bill.

Support Diana Irey and retire this Congressman who trashes our military if he believes it will further his political ambitions.

DEMKICKER should make sure that murtha has a stroke if murtha is re-elected.

Be positive DEMKICKER, no matter what happens the enemy must lose, not us.

"The Democratic Party bought and paid for by George Soros."

You meant the Marxist Party bought and paid for by George Soros.

Maybe Rush & company will finally understand what is going on and call a spade a spade.

I have yet to see any polls on this race. Given the prominence it's attracting, why haven't any been published?

He also obtained much funding for the bike trail that goes through his district (The Great Allegheny Passage) . Funding for that project dwarfs the 9/11 memorial site funding.

From Pittsburgh live website: "Funding for the various projects comes largely from federal Intermodal Surface Transportation Equity Act grants, as well as state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources recreation and conservation grants. So far, the project has cost about $35 million."

This project will likely spend an additional $15 million to connect the trail to Pittsburgh. I have ridden the trail, it is nice but what a waste of tax payer money.

The quotes are from an interview by The Wall Street Journal and Col. Bui Tin - actually.

I didn't see that it wasn't Giap until the day before yesterday.

It doesn't change anything, but I wonder why that little fact is overlooked? Is it give the progressive socialists an out where they can claim LIE and still be truthful?

Some quotes are, but the initial statement is from a book written by Giap, at least according to the source the writer cites, Fox News.

Also elsewhere in the article it's pointed out that more than one or two North Vietnamese leaders have pointed out Kerry,Fonda and the Ant-War movement giving them hope to hang on.

But I agree with you, it changes nothing. Kerry,Fonda and now Murtha share a common trait. All three aid and abet our enemies.

"Last time I was in Shanksville over the summer most improvements to the memorial looked very much grassroots/local. Federal money, where??"

Educated guess, based on 30+ years of observation? The same places the bulk of Murtha's "pork" ends up. ;)

While I have no clue exactly where that may be, I do know where it isn't. ;) Hence, my oft repeated rejoinder: "It's the funniest thing about that 'pork'." ;)

The legislation also included $1 million to provide security at the Flight 93 crash site over two years....What's to secure in a cow pasture (unused at that)?
