John Murtha uses 9/11 to brag about pork
John Murtha Campaign site ^

John Murtha is using the 5 year anniversary of 9/11 to brag about his abilities to throw pork at any problem that comes his way. Instead of offering a solemn note of remembrance, he has instead decided to generate a list of all the monies he has directed to the Flight 93 memorial(located in his district). This proves one thing, not only has John Murtha forgotten about exactly what happened on the fateful day 5 years ago, he has also neglected to realize how it has changed the world. I guess it wasn’t enough to use thousands of dead U.S. soldiers and Iraqi’s to help catapult him to a position of power within his party. He now needs to use the thousands of innocent citizens killed on 9/11 to brag about his abilities to “bring home the bacon.” You would think someone who served in the Marines and represented this country in U.S. Congress for over 3 decades would have some class. Unfortunately Murtha’s continuing lack of class is evident. Not only does he not understand the war we are fighting, he trivializes every sacrifice made each time he opens his mouth. This man truly makes my stomach turn.

Below is a brief list of those efforts:

• 2001: Championed the “Counter-Terrorism and Defense Against Weapons of Mass Destruction” section of the Defense appropriation which increased the funding for national security programs aimed specifically at the terrorist threat from three percent to over 29 percent. The legislation also included $1 million to provide security at the Flight 93 crash site over two years.

• 2002: Introduced legislation to designate the Flight 93 crash site as a National Memorial

• 2003: Obtained $300,000 for the Flight 93 Memorial and worked with PBS Coals to encourage their donation of 29 acres around the crash site to permanently protect this hallowed ground.

• 2004: Obtained $298,000 for the planning of the Flight 93 Memorial

• 2005: Obtained $806,000 for the Flight 93 Memorial/National Park Service Construction and another $250,000 for Security Costs for the Memorial site for Somerset County. Introduced legislation with Congressman Bill Shuster to commemorate the heroes of Flight 93 with a memorial in the U.S. Capitol. Furthermore, in 2005, the Interior Appropriations Subcommittee proposed to kill the funding for the Flight 93 Memorial. Congressman Murtha, however, convinced the committee to not only reinstate funding, but to provide $12.5 million as the federal share for the project over several years with an equal match by other memorial fundraising.

• 2006: Obtained $1 million for the Flight 93 Memorial Planning

No public polling yet, a little birdy told me, he commissioned an internal poll and did not like what he saw. After the poll was supposedly conducted, his campaign activities escalated. This is definitely consistent with him not liking the poll results.

Speaking of class Solemn note of Remebererance from Team Irey>

Is Murtha bragging about that memorial to the islamic swine jihadist murderers? The RED CRESCENT memorial? Interesting that it opens to Mecca ....

If America continues to elect cowards and traitors as "sheeple leaders" they will deserve what the islamic hordes give them.

Last June, the Los Angeles Times reported how the ranking member on the defense appropriations subcommittee has a brother, Robert Murtha, whose lobbying firm represents 10 companies that received more than $20 million from last year's defense spending bill.

"Clients of the lobbying firm KSA Consulting -- whose top officials also include former congressional aide Carmen V. Scialabba, who worked for Rep. Murtha as a congressional aide for 27 years -- received a total of $20.8 million from the bill," the L.A. Times reported.

In early 2004, according to Roll Call, Mr. Murtha "reportedly leaned on U.S. Navy officials to sign a contract to transfer the Hunters Point Shipyard to the city of San Francisco."

Laurence Pelosi, nephew of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, at the time was an executive of the company which owned the rights to the land.

The same article also reported how Mr. Murtha has been behind millions of dollars worth of earmarks in defense appropriations bills that went to companies owned by the children of fellow Pennsylvania Democrat, Rep. Paul Kanjorski.

Meanwhile, the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan campaign-finance watchdog group, lists Mr. Murtha as the top recipient of defense industry dollars in the current 2006 election cycle.

The loopy moon bats just go goose-stepping along. They don't care about security. They don't care about our way of life slipping away or in some instances, being stolen. They don't care sane, rational thinkers remaining who refuse to have the left wing agenda foisted upon them. And they SURELY don't care about free speech. That is unless it espouses amnesty for illegals, the gay agenda and kow towing to radical Islamofacists
