"I've lost track.....will the site still be a tribute to the islamofacists or has it changed significantly?"
Well the last I'd heard, they'd decided to make it a circle of trees, rather than a crescent, but then I happened on this in today's paper:
Lunch Launches Memorial Drive
(large picture of Paul Murdock in front of a very fuzzy picture - I can vaguely make out two trees ;)
caption underneath, in very small print, reads:
"Paul Murdock, president of Paul Murdock Architects of Los Angeles, which designed the entry chosen for the Flight 93 National Memorial(in background), attends a luncheon Tuesday in the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center, 301 Napoleon St., Johnstown. The event kicked off the Johnstown Campaign Committee's drive for corporate contributors to the memorial in Shanksville. The committee has collected about $100,000 of its' $250,000 goal. About $30 million in private funds is needed for the $60 million dollar project."
$60 MILLION???? "Corporate contributors"???? Good grief!!
IIRC, they pulled a "slight of hand" in making the trees come around a "little" further so it wasn't an obvious crescent. I think all the other stuff stayed the same.
$60 mil indeed! I think the "peoples" tribute of hay bales, flowers etc. is beautiful and heartfelt.
