The Nairobi Embassy bombing caused 5,000 casualties. The 200 killed including 12 Americans does not adequately reflect how big it really was.

Treating terrorism as law enforcement means you are willing to take civilian casualties.
3000 wasn't enough for them.

Clinton was preoccupied with his own political fortunes to an extent that precluded his giving serious and sustained attention to fighting terrorism.Pretty much sums it up for me.

Bill Clinton is a venal egomaniac and a sociopath, for whom NOTHING matters but himself.

So The War on Terror actually began while the Toon was at the helm. The big problem of course was that no one was going to believe a word from a man who pounded the podium and pointed his finger at all of us while stating "I did not have sex with that women". The same man also tried to blame us 'Vast Right Wing Conspirators' for a crime we had absolutely nothing to do with (OKC). This is why character matters. Clinton should have resigned from office for the good of the country because by the time the Monica Blue Dress story broke, he had become ineffectual. Even Nixon had better character then Clinton. Additionally, Gore should have also conceded the first night. He weakened the country and hampered the new President (Bush) by failing to concede. That is why character matters. It is best to concede a close race early for the good of the country. This may become even more apparent as Mexico may slip into a civil war over the same concession issue.
