September 12, 2006 -- Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani yesterday expressed concern for the first time that his own health may have been endangered by breathing the toxic smoke at Ground Zero. "I spent as much time here as anyone," he told reporters yesterday.

"She did. She did," Giuliani added, indicating his wife, Judith, and his spokeswoman, Sunny Mindel.

"Joe Lhota did, and Joe got ill," the former mayor went on. "Rudy Washington did, and Rudy clearly got sick as a result of Sept. 11."

"We're going to have a get-together tonight with all the people that we kind of survived with. And I'll check with them. I'll see," Giuliani said.

"I'm sure that some of these people are going to have symptoms, and maybe it's not now. They're going to have them five years from now or 10 years from now. And they should be taken care of."

Giuliani also took a shot at former EPA chief Christine Todd Whitman for telling the public that the air quality at Ground Zero was fine following the attacks.

"There were times when I wore a mask when I got near the pile, there were times when I didn't," Giuliani said.

"Those were the instructions.

Then he should avoid campaigning for the presidency (as he doesn't have a chance against Newt anyway) and get plenty of rest for the next few years.

as far as I'm concerned Rudy and McCain are both too big a health risk for the presidency, not because of bad air quality, but because of cancer.

This health issue should be an election disqualifer----after all, Rudy took himself out of the Senate race against Hill when he was dignosed with cancer.

John Kerry had prostate cancer so the dims couldn't complain about Rudy's.

There are several stages of cancer----I'm not sure if Kerry's was caught in time, or whether Rudy's had advanced to a more serious stage, which caused him to drop out.

McCain suffers from melanoma outbreaks which will likely get him sometime. Rudy HAD prostate cancer which is successfully treated in about 90% of cases like his.

This health issue should be an election disqualifer-

His mental health? Only a self-centered, egotistical mountebank would portray himself in this manner, all a/c his not wearing a dustmask. What a brave trooper, eh?

Mental health? You got a point there. Also underlines the precarious state of his ding-a-ling supporters. LOL.
