Again, what part of 'dramatization' and 'infotainment' needs to be redefined again? The libbies on my Usenet group are all up at arms about this movie (I mean like in the stratosphere) and are cheering on the airlines! I'm thinking AA really doesn't have a leg to stand on, what with allowing terrorists and knives and box cutters on the planes, correct?

Thanks to judges and lawyers the standard for suing has gone from actual defamation to "The truth makes me feel bad so I want to sue".

AA should consider themselves very lucky they weren't sued into bankruptcy because of their criminal negligence on 9/11 at Logan.

Well, at least they waited until AFTER they actually saw it.

The "proof" of the pudding is in the "eating", as they say, AA..........Your airline, your security, your airplane, your crew, your responsibility. Yes, I know, the rules allowed boxcutters and small knives at the time, but that was FAA rules. Doesn't the airlines have the power to set more stringent rules, if it so deems?..........

Cry me a river for American Airlines. They were aware of the threats, they just refused to do anything without being kicked in the ass by the FAA. In my book, their billion dollar loss of aircraft and bad PR is getting off light.

Roger Frizzell, American's VP of corporate communications and advertising, in an e-mail posted on liberal Web site Americablog.blogspot.com and confirmed by American as genuine, expressed astonishment at the scene.

American Airlines is threatening to sue Disney/ABC (The Email)

Clearly England should sue Icon over Braveheart. NO WAY Edward threw his son's lover out a window. Never happened.

Furthermore. Italy should sue HBO over it's whole Rome series. Because Atia was not a single mother and Augustus wasnt even in Rome when Ceasar was assasignated.

This sort of thing is just rediculous.

Its a movie for crying out loud.

I can see why AA would be upset, being that the movie implied that it was their desk attendants at Logan that received the warning about Atta on their monitors, when in fact it was a totally different airline in a totally different city.

However, I don't think that they have much standing in which to sue.

AA is going liberal. They are also a sponsor of the 'Gay chamber of commerce' see: NGLCC Corporate Partners

Faaaaaabulous!

AA is too stupid to run an airline. American Air-farce should be shuttled and sold to the highest legitimate operator!

"The warning depicted in the movie actually popped up when Mr. Atta went to board a plane from Maine to Boston, not in Boston, and the airline wasn't American. Pre-9/11, warnings issued were to ensure that bags of last-minute passengers traveled with them."

Hmm....

AA should consider themselves very lucky they weren't sued into bankruptcy because of their criminal negligence on 9/11 at Logan.

American followed the established security procedures at the time. The weapons the terrorists used were perfectly legal under FAA rules.

Let me guess, you also think Boeing should be sued for Sept. 11th?

Hmmm wasn't American Airlines one of the companies that got Federal Aid money cause they couldn't keep afloat being grounded for a few days after 9/11? The Government should have let them all go under, IMHO...

Any lawsuit threats over "Snakes on a Plane"?

American Airlines - aren't they the airline that contributed heavily to Al Gore's 2000 Presidential cmapaign within days after he agreed to stall on requiring them to reinforce cockpit doors? Gee, wouldn't reinforced cockpit doors have made a difference on 9-11? Hmmm?

If the Jersey Girls weren't so busy puking bile at the Bush administration, maybe they'd have paid attention to a few details of who in corporate America and the US govt failed to implement the "Gore Airline Safety Commission" recommendations.....and why

And what did American Airlines do to make sure their cockpit doors could NOT be breached?

They are damned lucky the US taxpayer bailed them out with the payoffs to victim families.
